12 dinos. 12 ponies. An epic fight to the death.

Pieces

Each player should have:
1x Normal Die
1x Queen
2x Fliers
5x Skilled Fighters
4x Brawlers

Common pieces:
1x Advantage Die
1x Board
1x "Pit" Cup

Single-play Objective

1 round. The first player to defeat their opponent's queen wins.

Long-play Objective

Match will consist of 3 rounds. Defeating the opposing queen scores 1 point for the winner. Any of the winner's surviving pieces also score 1 point.

Setup

The board is a typical chess/checker board rotated at a 45 degree angle having the black corner squares face each player.
These squares are where the queens will be placed, marked "Q" in the illustration.
The remaining pieces can be arranged on each player's side at the player's discretion within the squares marked "X".

Each player's team consists of 4 classes.

(See advantage guide below.)

Movement

Player must first declare which piece is being moved. If that piece is a queen or a flier, one normal die plus the advantage die can be rolled.
If the piece is a brawler or skilled fighter, one die can be rolled. The piece can be moved as many squares up to the total shown on the di(c)e.
The roll's result cannot be split between multiple pieces.
Movement is always parallel to the borders of the board. One move must always be to a square of the opposite color.

A piece cannot move into a square occupied by a friendly piece, nor "jump over" it. If a friendly piece is in the way, the piece being moved must have enough moves left to move around it.

If a piece moves into a square occupied by the enemy, they must fight, and any moves remaining in the roll are negated, regardless of who wins the fight.

Fighting

If the fight is between two pieces of the same class, each player rolls one die. If the fight is between two pieces of different classes, the advantaged player rolls their normal die and the Advantage Die.

Whoever rolls the higher number wins the fight and the losing piece is tossed into The Pit. If the roll comes up a tie, roll again until one player rolls higher.

Forced Queen Fight

If all non-queen pieces have been eliminated from the board and only the two queens remain, no more movement is possible and the queens must fight each other.
